About Us

At Starling Therapy, we believe in supporting the whole child and their development. We proudly serve families throughout the East Bay, including Oakland, Orinda, Berkeley, Montclair, Rockridge, Piedmont, Alameda, El Cerrito, Albany, Emeryville, and surrounding communities. We take time to get to know each child’s unique sensory profiles, interests, and strengths so therapy feels safe, meaningful, and fun. When children feel connected and understood, they’re more motivated to communicate—and that’s where real progress begins.

Communication is deeply connected to how a child moves, feels, and interacts with the world—so we take a holistic approach that integrates sensory and motor play into therapy sessions. This not only helps build essential language and speech skills, but also supports regulation, engagement, and confidence. When appropriate for the child, therapy sessions can take place at Montclair Park in Oakland.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you take insurance?

Starling Therapy is actively working toward becoming in-network with more major insurance companies. While that process is underway, we are considered out-of-network and can provide detailed documentation (superbills) to support reimbursement.

We currently accept: Blue Shield of California, Cigna, Regional Center of the East Bay (RCEB), Redwood Coast Regional Center

Soon to accept (By end of March 2026): United Healthcare Optum, Tricare, Kaiser Permanente

Where are sessions held?
Our in-person office is located in the Montclair Village neighborhood of Oakland. We can also meet you at Montclair Park or virtually.
